Matthew has attended the People of Color Conference (PoCC) three times and the Asian Educators Alliance (ASEA) twice. PoCC provides an Affinity Group safe space for the gathering of educators of different racial backgrounds to voice their ideas, thoughts, and feelings regarding diversity at their schools. Moreover, this conference has provided Matthew with fulfilling a commitment to networking and educating educators and students about racial equity and social justice issues that apply to independent schools.

 

At PoCC Seattle, Matthew, along with co-presenters Jenny Hammond, Tina Fox, and Amanda Friedman facilitated a workshop titled The Hidden Side of Transracial Adoptees at Our Schools. The link to the TRA Resource Page and PoCC Seattle program are below:
